My name is Liz Canham and I'd like to be the one to give you that help.

I've been working on the internet for a few years now. I've tried many of the programmes and found them lacking. Lacking support, lacking any real benefit and lacking in real saleable products. Obviously, I would be laying myself open to legal actions if I told you which ones I think you should avoid, so what I'd like to do is share with you the programmes which I think have something to offer as well as some training so that you will have a head start with marketing them. I would also like to give you some hints as to what to look for so that you don't fall prey to the scams and traps - yes they are out there.

There are some very unscrupulous people in the world but there are also plenty of ordinary people who just want to work from home and make a go of it so that they can work the hours that suit them and spend plenty of time with their families and friends, playing sport, watching TV and so on. I'll bet you're one of those good guys and good guys deserve a break - that's why I'm happy to help you in any way I can.

5 things I hate about receiving your emails
Emailing TonyaRTaylor writes "As a small business owner we all struggle with cost effective ways to market our products and services. One of the most popular tools is email marketing. This form of marketing has become a favored method of reaching consumers among businesses.

Why?


Unlike in traditional marketing such as print, radio and TV advertisement, email marketing is much more economical method to use. Email marketing is literally a fraction of the cost of any traditional marketing vehicle.

Email marketing operates in real-time allowing your prospects to respond instantly. A highly effective and useful email will influence prospects to visit your brick and mortar location or visit your website to purchase your product or service immediately.

However when done incorrectly influencing your prospects perception of email usefulness can be a challenge.


Business owners must follow the email and privacy statutes in 36 states in addition to the federal law CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act).

The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 establishes requirements for those who send commercial email. It spells out penalties for spammers and companies whose products are advertised in spam if they violate the law, and gives consumers the right to ask emailers to stop spamming them.

Small business owners listen up!

You want to know 5 things I HATE about receiving your emails?

1. Your emails look like spam
Emails with out contact information and not consistent with your brand (i.e. same color, fonts and logo) hurt your reputation. Most spammers will not include a valid physical address, email address, phone number, contact person or department.

2. You don't give me the opportunity to opt-out
Your emails compete with all the others in my crowded inbox. Your design, format and content must add value otherwise I no longer want to receive them. Remember growing your mailing list is important, but don’t do it at the expense of quality.

3. You make your entire mailing list visible
Not only is this bad email etiquette, some Internet Service Provider's (ISP) consider you to be sending spam if you send too many emails in a short period of time. The ISP won't tell you they blocked your emails and placed your domain on the dreaded blacklist.

4. You send unnecessary attachments
This is frustrating! Navigating the email to read your information should be easy. You have just a couple of seconds to make your case, so don’t waste them.

5. You send messages from multiple email accounts
Emails from unrecognized senders are deleted or may be blocked as spam or labeled as malicious. Use a consistent email address to insure your mailing list does not have trouble receiving your email marketing.

It is important as a business owner to create professional looking email marketing. You can easily and effectively create high-impact emails that are as professional as your business with email marketing software.

The bottom line, if you want to comply with the law, make more money, improve efficiency and effectively track your results simply get on board with email marketing software.

Why use FREE tools to grow your business? (Hint: Its not what you think)

The detailed definition means to imitate confidence so that as the confidence produces success, it will generate real confidence.

To help you "Fake It Until You Make It", entrepreneurs and small business owners need to consider two critical objectives: the ability to act big on a small budget and look like a high quality-professional.

In order to accomplish these objectives you need to assess how technology can help you. If you're seriously interested in succeeding, answer these questions:

    1. What tools will propel my business to the next level?
    2. What tools are needed to run my business?
    3. What tasks can be automated?
    4. What tools will save time and increase efficiency?
    5. What training is needed?
    6. What tools will enhance customer relations?
    7. What tools will enhance partnership relations?
    8. What tools will enhance employee relations?
    9. What tools are needed for data security?
    10. What tools will make the business more competitive?

Before making a technology purchase, growing companies must consider the return on investment. Unfortunately, some benefits might not be tangible or cash may not be available to justify a purchase.

Since, you don't risk a cent, now is the time to make technology your BFF (Best Friend Forever). Take advantage of FREE technology tools, not just because they are FREE but to defy the odds, out perform competitors, increase revenue and propel your small business to the next level.

Who gets to keep the website after you divorce your webmaster?
Website Building TonyaRTaylor writes "Attention all business owners! Do you know the answer to this question: Who gets to keep the website after you divorce your webmaster?

Just like in a marriage, it all depends on the pre-nuptial agreement (contract). Do you have one?

My personal disclaimer: Some of this information may be about legal issues; however this article is not intended as a substitute for legal advice. I am not an attorney nor do I play one on webTV therefore you should consult with an attorney familiar with the laws concerning internet and intellectual property.
Ok, now on with the story, the short version. . .

Here's the situation, for whatever reason the client decided not to pay their annual bill for web hosting services. Even though there were several attempts to reach the client the bill went unpaid for more than 90 days. As a result, the hosting was cancelled and the site was removed from the server.

Several months later the client sent this exact message: "you have my website and I need you to let me know how to get it back, like I said before I paid you money to build it so....? that money had nothing to do with hosting or anything".

Just because you paid for the development of your website does not mean you own it. There are Intellectual Property laws designed to protect the creator and to encourage the creator to create. If you hired a company they own the software development and website design produced by its employees. If you hired an independent contractor you must obtain a written "assignment" of the copyright in the commissioned work from them.

Most business owners unknowingly give their webmaster complete control over their business website. Even if you don't have a pre-nuptial agreement (contract) or own your website you can still maintain some control. While you and your webmaster are honeymooning be sure you know the answer to these questions:

1. What software was used to develop the website?

    • Exact name
    • Version
    • Software website
2. How to access the code?

3. Where is the code located on the server?

4. How to change the content?

    • Graphics
    • Text
5. How to create a weekly back up?

6. How to grant access to additional users?

7. How to obtain the master copies of your website design?

As a business owner, how many people realize their webmaster is like their spouse? Voluntarily joined for life (or until divorce), not many! Just like in marriage a prenuptial agreement (contract) is a practical solution to dealing with the risks and problematic topic of who gets to keep the website after your divorce.

That same philosophy holds true as an entrepreneur, however when it comes to technology we let 4 of the most dangerous words in the English language stand in our way…

So many women are not investing in technology or training for their business or themselves. Having no (or poor) technology doom most who try, and prevent others from even trying. They are constantly working harder not smarter because they are afraid of technology.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying an accountant can try, then, instantly become a database programmer, nor can a real estate agent morph into a web designer. Even if you aren’t particularly savvy with technology, that doesn’t mean you should be afraid of it.

Some entrepreneurs fear of technology, lead them to utter those 4 words (not to be confused with four letter words, that's another topic!) more often than they realize. As a result, it's hard--overwhelming to get started.

When was the last time you updated your internet (web) browser software?

Regular software updates can provide better and quicker service and are crucial to keeping your home office computer or your home office network as secure as possible.
